Appy I must confess I am sloppy. I do occasionally drag my computer around the house. I just do not want to be chained to a desktop. If I left one at work, I would have to constantly update both of them

Yes but dragging the laptop around the house is what kills it. My sister kills a laptop every 3 years. They fall, they suck in dust from the furniture, they overheat from being on a bed or couch or ottoman.
I frequently use my laptop to remote into my desktop which means my laptop has become my desktop. It’s just easier to use my desktop setup. So even though I am on my laptop, I am actually using my desktop machine.
One of the reasons I like my desktop is dual large monitors.
Unless you are running games like Call of Duty, graphics are irrelevant these days.
My wife uses a laptop exclusively but it generally stays in the same place all the time and she uses a cooling pad. I do play Call of Duty on her laptop so it has a better GPU.
And I am not directing this to you directly but to people who are considering a new machine. It’s what I tell everyone.
