No. In the military it is customary to maintain as close to a normal operating environment as possible so as not to alert the enemy that something is about to happen.

Show the enemy what he expects to see and he won't see what you don't want him to.

Yes...and no...depends on the situation.

In many cases you go quiet to prevent location being pinpointed and/or comms being interpreted during tactical situations.

In other cases you broadcast fake stuff to put them off the scent or divert their resources.

In some you do normal ops because you want to rub it in their faces.

I’d like to think they have such an advantage they can rub it in their faces...part of what I think Q is, but I still think they are holding a lot of cards close to their vest.

As you mentioned. In fact it was just the opposite at least for awhile. In Vietnam one of the ways they knew something was coming was because even though they couldnt decrypt what we were saying they could see a spike in communication. Once we learned of that we made our systems, at least the ones I know about that were in use already then, send constant streams of nonsense with our real coms interspersed among it.
