I understand the thought process and agree up to a point. The tough part of this is that if CPD had picked up any two white guys for questioning - any two white guys - Smollett would have fingered them. And those two innocent white guys would have been 'lynched' in the court of public opinion and would have gone to jail. For nothing.
Thank God it never got that far, but I have no doubt these people would have let that happen. Smollette is lower than a worm.
