Yes it is a child. The choice was-to have or not have sex: and they made a choice to have sex knowing that one of the risks was pregnancy.
Once pregnant-it’s too late to undue it without committing murder.

So they should have made a choice to abstain. After all it’s their body-they should control it when it counts-and not get pregnant.
