Not to argue your main point, it undoubtedly is a gateway, but I’d argue that there are plenty of people who got to the opioids without trying MJ over the last ten years at least, by starting on pain meds and then getting hooked.

That’s right. More than one way to get hooked. And not so recent either 50 years ago, a relative of mine used to drive a fuel tanker. He was involved in an accident and was burned over a lot of his body.
Had to have many skin grafts. He got hooked on pain meds. It was really a sad thing.
I agree and that was in my mind; getting hooked via pain meds without the mj route.
I know two people that happened to.
