This thing never had a time line to meet. It looked like it was going to last in to 2020.
Why did he stop now?
Does he need to be investigated and found guilty of his crimes?
It was all about Barr. He put an end to it. Everyone else before him was willing to let it go on until they found something on trump.
Barr held Mueller to a professional standard, and Mueller struggled with it.
He had nothing and had to fold.

You’ve got it. He investigated what he was assigned to investigate, wrote his report, and that was that. He is a very straight-laced attorney, and he is not about to go on fishing expeditions. He won’t speculate, and he won’t discuss improper behavior unless he’s ready to bring charges.
In many ways, he was an ideal investigator for Trump, since others might have made a big deal about things that are simply not illegal. He feels constrained not to even mention them.
Blackmail works both ways. Muellers a dirty cop steeped in Uranium One amongst other things. On the surface his appointment satisfied the dems and the deep state, but Trump used him holding the dirt over his head. Look at what Muellers investigation DiD uncover. All swamp dwellers guilt and then some.
Lemme refresh your memory and also ask when has Trump not fulfilled a campaign promise.

So if Barr simply exercised proper authority and made it stop, it makes me believe even more that Jeff Sessions was a Rino, deep-state plant. He recused himself on a flimsy pretext and let Mueller cause havoc with Trump for 2 years.
Sessions was either highly traitorous, or highly stupid.
The investigation was intended to slow Trump down and help the Dems win the House. It accomplished that goal. Now the Dems can pick up the pointless investigations from here.
Many, probably unrelated, events happened this week: recognising the Golan Heights as being Israel’s, Purim, Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, D.C., the case was dismissed out west (name escapes me), the three witches in Congress are getting WORSE, Barron Trump’s 13th birthday, stuff going on with Jeffrey Epstein’s case....
Still Mueller’s probe seemed to come to a very abrupt halt.
Sessions has certainly not been as prolific a public figure as Comey and Brennan of late, so who knows?
I agree. It’s no coincidence that about a month later Mueller throws in the towel.
I can picture it now, big buds that they and their wives are, Barr was having dinner with them and simply told Comey to “knock this shit off’. And, that was The End....right there.

I’m sure that was it. Barr told them to put up or shut down...they shut down.
Barr probably met with Mueller Rosenstein, and ordered Mueller to produce the evidence of obstruction of justice; Mueller said he didn’t have any, so Barr told him to shut it down.
This scenario may also be why Rosenstein has been kept around; to lend credibility to Mueller’s decision to end his witch hunt.
Yeah, it must have been polling badly.
Barr probably just told everyone to knock it off.
