This is very good news, and it did NOT happen because of Barack Obama.

The REAL fight against the Islamic State in Syria began on October 29, 2014, when fifty (50) unidentified Arab fighters entered the besieged city of Kobane from Turkey.
Those men were Arab commandos from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). They guided air strikes. Obama had authorized air strikes, but he refused to send joint terminal attack controllers (JTACs)–airmen on the ground who give pilots the exact locations of targets.
American pilots were essentially blind. As a result, the air strikes were ineffectual.
The JTACs of the GCC allowed the Kurds to defeat an Islamic State force that outnumbered them ten to one. ...snip...
