It would provide a beneficial transparency to government taxation. $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Time for a truth in taxation law! Your shelf price would have a breakdown of every cent of taxes included in the cost of the product and where the $$ went. The sales receipt would also contain the additional taxes imposed on the buyer.

Alas, this would immediately out the deep state! POTUS is aware of this! Hence his fight for tax reform being a first blow in our battle for Freedom!

While a laudable idea on its face, I don't think it would have the result you desire.

After production & distribution, the largest factors which go into cost of goods sold are taxes and cost of compliance with government regulations.

This last item is not insignificant. It includes things like: minimum wage laws, workforce training not associated with production (diversity 'training', et al), reporting compliance with regulations, withholding, accounting and paying taxes, etc.

The cost of complying with such a law/ regulation would likely exceed the benefit provided to the end consumer.
