I was mainly using those 14.4 modems to remote access building automation systems. Downloading software changes took a while if you had to do the whole data base. Worked fine for that for years. It was ok for the web, which was new to me. I was using that when I found FR through a Drudge link. That ay be the last time I looked at drudge.
