Just like my Packard-Bell 100 out in the garage. It came with CompuServe preloaded and 10 free AOL disks. I gave them away as Christmas presents to...uh...”friends”.
Had to buy a USRobotics 28.8K modem (out in garage, too) to connect with Core.com services; $29.95/mo.
All that was ordered from Tigerdirect warehouse back when they had a mail-order catalogue-azine. I still do business with them today!
To make this slide even worse...do you remember when no one wanted to load AOL because of spyware issues and privacy concerns? Yeah...good times...mmmm.
Not sure if I used AOL, but when I was new to the internet I remember win98 and that damn slow modem. It was fascinating!
