Jeff Sessions’ Letter Shows DOJ Followed Trump’s Demand To Investigate Hillary Clinton
Inquistr ^

In a letter released to the public for the first time, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions has been found ordering U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber to investigate Hillary Clinton, according to watchdog group American Oversight.

The watchdog got hold of the letter after filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) litigation. The letter’s existence, which was written in November 2017, was denied a year later in response to American Oversight’s litigation. The Justice Department maintained that Sessions didn’t direct Huber in writing and that any order was passed verbally.

In a letter released to the public for the first time, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions has been found ordering U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber to investigate Hillary Clinton, according to watchdog group American Oversight.

Since before the 2016 presidential elections, Donald Trump has repeatedly called for the DOJ to investigate Hillary Clinton. He often invoked the infamous “Lock her up” chant at rallies in front of his supporters — and continued his calls for prosecuting Clinton even after becoming president.

Austin Evers, American Oversight executive director, said the letter is proof that Sessions followed Trump’s arbitrary and “authoritarian” demands.

“‘Lock her up’ was wrong at campaign rallies, and it’s even worse coming from the Department of Justice. Even after this long, it’s still deeply shocking to see the black-and-white proof that Jeff Sessions caved to President Trump’s worst authoritarian impulses and ordered a wide-ranging investigation of his political opponents based on demands from Congress instead of the facts and the law.”

Huber cannot indict outside of his purvey, period.

The major question in criminal subject matter jurisdiction is whether the charges are pursuant to federal or state law. If the charges allege a violation of federal Criminal Law, the defendant will be tried in a federal court that is located in the state in which the offense was committed.

Qtards who bought the Huber ruse not knowing he cannot indict outside of his jurisdiction.

LOL

Huber cannot indict outside of his purvey, period.

Is the link you provided supposed to support your assertion?
Something a little bit more direct seems appropriate.
A page with dozens of headings that each lead to pages with dozens of articles is pretty weak evidence.

Seems that somebody disagrees with your conclusion.

GWU's Jonathan Turley: Sessions "Brilliant" To Have Utah US Attorney John Huber "Team Up" With DOJ's Inspector General Instead Of Appointing Second Special Prosecutor
Turley said that by having Huber work with the Department of Justice, the administration is combining all the work of the DOJ inspector general and previous investigations, with an active prosecutor who can quickly bring charges, seek indictments, and get results for President Trump -- far more quickly than a second special counsel could. Many Republican lawmakers have called for a second special counsel to investigate concerns about the Mueller probe with regard to FISA abuse and the Steele dossier, but Turley argues that this method will bring faster results.

Do you disagree with Turley?

From whence would said indictments come from?
A grand jury, perhaps?

Snip... That point is critical because as Sessions’ March 29 letter explains, the inspector general’s jurisdiction to conduct civil and criminal investigations includes “actions taken by former employees after they have left government service.” Then Huber can act on any of those matters.
As a U.S. attorney, Huber has full authority to empanel a grand jury and to file criminal charges. A grand jury can be empaneled anywhere, which means that it could be a group of citizens from deep-red Utah – in the heart of Trump country – instead of the D.C. Swamp that decides whether to hand down indictments for felony prosecution.

You'll pardon me if I don't take your word on the issue.
Consider me skeptical of you and your statements overall...for obvious reasons.

Qtards who bought the Huber ruse not knowing he cannot indict outside of his jurisdiction.

Trolls want to convince people that Huber can't indict outside of his jurisdiction when his jurisdiction is good anywhere in the U. S.

“The Inspector General’s jurisdiction extends not only to allegations of legal violations, but also to allegations that Department employees violated established practices as well,” Sessions added in his letter, which means that the IG’s report can hold people accountable even for actions that do not violate a specific statute.

LOL

TRUMP,”Sessions should have never recused himself. And if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job, and I would have picked somebody else.”

Qtards now conflate an IG with Federal District courts in desperation.

Happens all the time,1st District constantly indict people from California, the 11th always indict persons from Oregon/sarc off

LOL

Thenthere are no need for Districts at all/sarc off

What am I missing? Oh, yeah.

I see that you don't say that you disagree with Turley.

Should I therefore conclude that you do agree with him?

Name all the persons indicted by Horowitz himself.

Name all the conviction and indictments where persons were hauled into a Federal District court they do not reside in?

By your contention this should be de rigueur and there should be thousands of examples to cite from docket sources.

Normal people do not collectivize as the cultists do in believing an anonymous source hinting it is POTUS.

Don’t know that commentator, never discussed anything with that commentator, never heard of that commentator.

If I went to the Qtard page 1 will get me 100 your name appears in posts with that other Qtard and the regular other useful idiots.
