A 70 year old friend of mine developed Gillian Barrett Syndrome shortly after receiving a flu vaccine. It was quite sobering to see an active, healthy women the day before she came down with the syndrome, laying in a hospital bed on a ventilator, completely paralyzed with the exception of movement in her toe. That's how we communicated. She died in the hospital.
I never will get a flu vaccine.
