1. On one hand, Davis claims that Trump's lawyers dangled a pardon in front of Cohen. But then he offers this exact quote: "During that time period, he [Cohen] directed his attorney to explore possibilities of a pardon at one point with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, as well as other lawyers advising President Trump."
2. Davis claims that Cohen -- through his attorneys -- sought a pardon from Trump ... but then Davis insists that this is actually consistent with Cohen's Congressional testimony where he claimed he never wanted, or would accept, a pardon.
I've never seen a lawyer so thoroughly undermine his own client as Davis has been doing for the last eight months.
I keep thinking of MRPC 1.1 (competence) and 1.3 (diligence). Lanny often seems to be worrying about Hillary in his representation of Cohen.
