Unless they can block a veto, this is probably pretty irrelevant to Trump.

Veto will be upheld in the House? Meaning that they won’t get 2/3 to override?

It wouldn’t get 2/3 to override in the Senate either.

Anyway, we all wait for the other shoe to drop on this, as someone will go to the 9th circuit or some other liberal venue, to find a liberal judge to issue an injunction.

We know this happens, even if John Roberts says there aren’t liberal or conservative judges, etc.

If the GOP wants to commit suicide I won’t shed a tear for them.

But not to sustain the veto.

If a majority of Congress would fund defending the border, the EO would go away.

Congress is again putting itself on the record as being opposed to a secure border. Actions carry more weight than lies and empty rhetoric.

Congress is pretty quick to give money to foreign countries but god forbid we ever do even the slightest thing to protect this country.

They have already stuck an ice pick in their eye.

The worst we can do is grab hold and stir it around a little bit.

This just after all the love at CPAC. The GOP is the enemy of the people.

Do not vote to reelect any one of these grandstanding, virtue-signalling SOBs who are doing this because they know it is symbolic.

The real question they are voting on is if what is going on at the mexico border constitutes and emergency or not. It is an emergency. The money being moved around is just an excuses to hide what they really want.

Yep and who’s responsible for all this foreign aid....I mean who hands it out? Can the President stop it or is it locked on with just the Congress?

Trump (may re-election be upon him) will either sign it or allow it to pass into law after 10 days. Today is [15]. Count out 10 days after it goes to POTUS.

He knows he can get things done during another prolonged shutdown. This time, Rand Paul will be the fall guy.

Electing Trump was like turning on the light.

Now we are seeing all the dirt the darkness has kept hidden from our view for decades.

I wonder... are there any penitent politicians in the house or will there be politicians in the penitentiary?

Yep. As I’ve said since Trump was elected, ignore what he says and watch what he does. e.g. the last several presidents said they would move the US embassy to Jerusalem, but none did. Trump did it. He didn’t even have to. It was not a campaign promise that I was aware of.

And now the Republicans are communicating via their actions. I’ve said for quite a while that since Trump was elected we are not looking at democrat vs republican. We’re looking at the deep state vs Trump. Trump is no republican, but I mean that in the good way.

Well, we elected these people.

Honestly, after suffering through Obama, the GOP is worried about a future Democrat President overstepping his authority?

That's like the cheerleaders protecting the virginity of one of their own after she banged the whole football team.

McConnell's words don't ring true.

It wouldn’t get 2/3 to override in the Senate either.

Yeah, but this way Mitch protects his senators from having to cast that vote.

I learned recently that Bush 2 made an emergency declaration about fraud in a Belarus election. Long term, this law probably needs to go away, but right now we’re in a political war.

If I were Trump, I’d threaten a new Patriot Party. Screw the Republicans. The Senate has been a good-for-nothing body for quite some time now.
