VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Canada’s Department of Justice on Friday gave the go-ahead for an extradition hearing for a top executive of Huawei, the Chinese electronics giant, who is wanted on fraud charges in the United States.

The case involving the executive, Meng Wanzhou, who is the chief financial officer and daughter of Huawei’s founder, has entangled Canada in a bitter dispute between the world’s two largest economies.

Darnit I forgot about the Huawei CFO extradition and I was thinking on the way home I needed to include it....
