This is not my experience, and I suspect he was eating / drinking some sugar and other carbs as well. It doesn’t take much.

High carbs is the American Diet, and it is working so well s/

My husband has been very much overweight (330) his entire life. Severe weight issues run in his family.

We’ve tried low calorie, low fat. Small non lasting results. Americans have been doing this for years....look around and see how well it is working.

A little over a year ago we went KETO and for the first time he lost a substantial amount of weight, over 80 pounds and he’s going for more. He’s feeling so much better.

Keto is a low carb, no sugar diet. It is not a starvation diet, so hunger is not an issue.

The best part is he went for blood tests on his annual and everything was better. No more pre diabetis, bad cholesterol down, and good cholesterol up significantly, blood pressure down. Doctor was thrilled and said keep doing what you are doing. You can’t fake the blood tests.

You can’t cheat on this by sneaking in carbs or you will gain. But since you eat until you are not hungry, the temptations go down.

I also went on it and lost the 20 pounds I was looking to do.

I’m staying low carb, not as low as when I was trying to lose. My blood tests were greatly improved too. I’m in my 60’s and I feel wonderful.

Get rid of the sugar friends, it is destroying our bodies. many carbohydrates we eat turn into sugar when digested such as bread.

This is not a fad diet. It is a diet people naturally lived on over the centuries before now. It works.

Sugar and ALL REFINED CARBS are killers. To include alcohol.

However, small amounts of whole grains and all the whole fruits and vegetables you can eat AFTER your minimum protein and fats are good.

8 ounces of meat and a FULL PLATE of vegetables is a good meal for dinner.

3 eggs, Ezekiel Sprouted Whole Grain toast, sausage and an orange or apple is a good breakfast.

An 800 calorie salad with 40gr of protein is a perfect lunch.

You gots to move!

Worked for my wife and I as well.
At 5’9” I weighed in at 210. Started Keto combined with regular exercise and consistently lost 5 lbs a week.
Now at 170. I never thought I would see that number on the scale again.
The only kinda downside was, we had to do some clothes shopping, but it sure felt real good to get into some Jean’s I haven’t been able to wear in almost 15 years.

Measuring spilled ketones to monitor the removal of carbohydrates metabolically. ALL of this comes from the work and promotion of a true genius cardiologist, Dr. Robert Atkins. The metabolic explanation of the high protein/balanced protein and low specific carbohydrates— is quite well defined.

The problem in the US is simply carbs in everything, hidden carbs and those right out front. Carbs, sugar in particular, are in fact toxic. Atkins, whom I met, died hitting his head on a sidewalk after stepping on patch ice in NYC. Such a shame.

To keep weight off after Keto dieting, is to keep up the basic balance of protein vs low carb and zero sugar in the diet. Drink lots of water to flush the kidneys of nitrogenous amines as digestive products of high protein in the diet. Stay healthy!

Now they call this the Paleo-Diet. Not original at all.

I’ve been doing the low carb/sugar diet for about a month now. I started it to see if it would help keep my blood pressure down and it certainly has. My blood pressure is crazy low compared to what it was. I feel so much better and don’t have the nervous anxiety that was bugging me before. I’ve never been overweight and I’m happy that so far I haven’t really lost much weight. I think I eat too many nuts between meals, but before I was eating anything and everything without giving it much thought.
