This post was for discussion, coming out of an exchange of views with an American friend who was astonished I could buy a semi-auto shotgun in the UK. I am not attacking US gun ownership or claiming ours is better - it manifestly isn't.

Yeah, sure. Your Olympic shooting teams travel to France to train. Got it. I helped a Limey or Aussie or two shoot at our National Matches, Service Rifle- loaned them the rifles and they paid for the ammo- Granted, you blokes do tend to put up fight at Palma and Wimbledon matches, bolt guns of course.
Anyway, have at it, Pointed knives and all....
