I get your logic that an acting AG could easily be an Asst. AG. But an announcement today that Whitaker will be working for the Asst. AG doesn’t mean that RR will still be there tommorow, in a week or in month.
After all “senior counselor in the Office of Asst Attorney General” could just be a ‘PLACEHOLDER’ till RR leaves then Whitaker becomes Asst. AG
