All because he was being written off the show he had NO problem putting INNOCENT people’s lives in jeopardy. If any two white men had been arrested for just being in the area at the time, Smollett would have gladly said those two men are his attackers and they might have been convicted based on a LIE
Easy case.
The cops have only to tell Smollett’s two buddies that they won’t be charged if they confess. Of course they’ll talk so they can stay out of trouble, and tell everything they know.
Then the cops will be off to have a word with the not-so-master mind behind this scheme.
I hope when this is official, Trump calls it out.

I’m deeply horrified and saddened by the racist and homophobic attacks against @JussieSmollett. He is a kind and profoundly talented soul whom I respect with all my heart. The terror of racism and homophobia has no place in our society, it is the most indecent way to live...
...whoever did this, do not forget that you are nothing but hate filled cowards while Jussie’s talent and activism will continue to shine a bright light on to the world for decades to come.
I saw this over at Ace of Spades, and it seems the story came from some twitterer (whatever one is supposed to say), I have to imagine Variety backed this up. Who knows nowadays, though really.
I mean, we all KNOW it’s BS but how do you prove that? This scenario is plausible, and so hilarious if true!
If they get busted the guys who “attacked” him can say: hey, he told us we were acting a scene, we don’t know what made him get kooky about things and call the cops and all.
