A while back, Q said that Anons should not be thinking in terms of White Hats and Black Hats. He said we should be thinking in terms of people being leveraged.
Okay, I can go with leveraged. So in the case of SC RM. I can forgo the gray hat title and just say that he is a palid suck-up wishing to save his own neck, by dishing out disinformation to a known leaker.
