How Congress and President Obama Made Trump’s Wall Possible
Today, the Trump administration has invoked this express statutory delegation of authority to do what the statute says: “construct ... fences ... across international boundaries of the United States.” Specifically, the president identified up to $2.5 billion under the Department of Defense funds that were designated for counterdrug activities. This provision does not turn on the declaration of a national emergency pursuant to 10 U.S.C. § 2808, which the president also invoked in a proclamation issued today. Critically, the White House stated that “these funding sources will be used sequentially and as needed.” The “emergency” funds may not be tapped till the other, less controversial funds are depleted. Plaintiffs may not have standing to challenge the diversion of “emergency” funds till those funds are in fact allocated. Through § 284, both Houses of Congress willingly gave President Trump a path to build at least part of the wall.
This episode illustrates how Congress has long ago relinquished its lawmaking powers.

When I was watching Fox News they showed a video of her moving very slowly and Judge Roberts taking her hand. There was no way I could tell if that was a recent video and I can't find it anywhere now. I think I heard them say she would NOT be at the session on Tues, but now I just read that supposedly she will be. So I guess we will find out come Tuesday.

So she doesn’t hold the republican senators who Trump dragged across the finish line accountable? It is they who didn’t step up. They passed the damn legislation. It’s on them. Yes, Trump could have vetoed it. But the back stabbing republicans would have joined the rats in overriding the veto. They basically left him no choice.

Trump had a mandate to dramatically change the political direction of the GOP, after having handily defeated all their leading lights in a contested primary. Instead he let the pre-existing GOP dictate the political direction of his presidency, with predictably disastrous results

So this morning I put into my old dusted off Crock-Pot a small Chuck roast, a few red potatoes,a small bag of baby carrots, a quartered onion, a PKG of brown gravy mix and a cup of water. Put it on low and have been out most of the day.

President Donald Trump has been president 2 years and declared one National Emergency that directly addresses a real threat - the ongoing invasion of the USA by illegal aliens.
Barack Obama was president 8 years and declared 12 National Emergencies.
How many of the 12 can you find that address your domestic concerns or actual emergencies that present an imminent and direct threat to the USA and American citizens?
I see 1 definate and 1 possibility that may address a threat to US citizens.
But nothing comparable in magnitude to the damage being inflicted by the illegal invasion.
And why is healthcare access still such a concern to you and other democrats 10 years after Obamacare was forced on the nation?
