Shoppers were lined up down every aisle waiting to check out.
At Costco stores around the area, people stocked up in bulk, apparently specifically on liquor.
"Hat tip to the lady in front of me at Costco. 18 bottles of wine, 2 cases of Fremont IPA, & cherry tomatoes. Godspeed, ma'am," wrote MS Kalara on Twitter.
At Fred Meyer, shoppers described a "war zone" of "combat shopping."

I’ve lived through winters in three states and people in western Washington are the biggest babies by far.
All it takes is a an inch of snow to turn the doofs into ersatz preppers.

Here in Missouri we have the French Toast forecast. Milk, eggs and bread. If they add beer it it we know we are in for trouble.

We moved away from the crazy west side this past summer. We are currently under a blizzard warning here in Quincy, in central Washington. The shelves in our stores are full. Just sayin....
lots of folks don’t realize that in a true emergency most stores and many warehouses will be pretty much bare in 3 days.
My wife spent life as a very young child at Fort Leonard Wood.
She remembers they got an inch or two of snow once and the world stopped.
22 year old truck. Started good in the recent bit of chill we had here.
I’m visiting Portland Oregone and yesterday they had a huge press conference about the “snow event” with the sheriff and cops and fire dept and transportation dept and the social service agencies urging people to buy milk and bread to donate to the “friend”....ie....homeless slackers....

Our dingbat Gov Inslee called a state of emergency..... We have about 9” on the ground here on So. Whidbey Island but being retired and quasi preppers were we already prepared....
It snows in Seattle every year. They should know the drill by now.
Yeah and if a person doesn’t have a couple of days worth of food at home as a routine thing, they’re pretty much a lost cause anyway. Especially if they have children.
