Well, armed humvees pretty much qualify as mech infantry, if they don’t have to worry about IEDs they don’t need to use MRAPs. On the other hand, it would not surprise me at all if they DID try to employ IED as a tactic. Don’t think it would work for them, what with us the home team.

Why isn’t the U.S military used for border security in the U.S.A. Can someone explain it to a non American who finds it weird that it is such a big deal to have the military control and patrol a border. Isn’t that one of the primary functions of a military.

Yeah, 50 cal. is cool, but it's only awesome if it is actually loaded and the soldiers are allowed to actually use them. Otherwise their are no better than props in a movie.
Depends entirely on how the action is described. The President could declare Martial Law on the border then your objection would be moot.
