Wow two years?

Yes, two years. I kept my phone and laptop charged by charging them in the car (I did lots of driving as a process server), used Aladdin lamps, and every now and then would use the solar power for lights.
Oh, and I kept my kindle charged all the time with solar batteries.
I heated (and still do) with wood. I hauled water from my son's house, and had an icebox which I put blocks of ice in to keep my Diet Coke chilly.
It only became unmanageable when the cancer diagnosis got made. Then my kids insisted I have electricity and an indoor bathroom. I was happiest with the bathroom! Course, I had to spend a boatload of $ on a well, drain field, and having the electricity run in from the road...underground. You can't fly kites if you have overhead power lines.
