"Empire" star Jussie Smollett was brutally attacked by 2 men who beat him up, put his head in a noose and screamed, "This is MAGA country."
Sources directly connected to Jussie tell TMZ, the actor arrived in Chicago from New York late Monday, and at around 2 AM he was hungry and went to a Subway. We're told when he walked out, someone yelled, "Aren't you that f***ot 'Empire' n*****?"
The 2 men -- both white and wearing ski masks -- viciously attacked Jussie as he fought back, but they beat him badly and fractured a rib. They put a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him and as they left they yelled, "This is MAGA country."
Jussie was taken to Northwestern Memorial where he was treated. He was discharged later Tuesday morning.
ThatGrapeJuice.Net first posted this letter which was sent to Fox Studios in Chicago with cut out letters spelling, "You will die black f**." Our sources say the letter was sent 8 days ago.
The envelope the letter arrived in appears to say MAGA in the upper left corner.
Law enforcement sources tell us Chicago PD is investigating the incident as a battery and the police tell us they are treating the incident as a possible hate crime.
Just checked the weather for approx 0200 this morning in chitcago. Nine degrees with a wind chill of -6 degrees. Yeah, think I’ll run over to Subway(was there one open at 0200) for a “foot long”. And just happened upon by two MAGA lovin’ assaulters. Not likely. Of course the libs are going nutz already.

I lived in the south side of Chicago for three years. I also experienced a mild reverse version of what was described. At 4am, the nearest sandwich shop was at 51st and Cottage Grove. My college pal and I were hungry after a late college night (this was U of Chicago, the late nights did not involve booze). Cottage Grove is a boundary area.
As is typical, the place had bullet proof glass and a lazy Susan for conveying the food and money. After we placed out orders, and couple of black youths entered, and they started talking about having seen Roots, and what was done to Kunte Kinte, and what they would do to anyone who white guy tried that on them. They were trying to get a rise out of us, I think, as they were talking well above conversation level. I was only thing, Roots was on almost 10 years ago, can’t you do better? We got our order and left, but were stared at the whole time, by a couple of guys having fun trying to make us uncomfortable.
My point is that in real life, every stereotype in the book never gets pulled out. When dialogue sounds like something that would have been written by a melodramatic young woman who somehow landed a job writing TV scripts, and out-dated faux southernisms get mixed in, it doesn’t even make good fiction. If the noose thing were to be done today, it would be by a nihilistic, post-left hipster, and not by a couple of Richie Daley Sr. wannabees. Chicagoans haven’t carried rope around since the days of Leopold and Loeb.
Whites don’t shout mirror images versions of leftist or black power chants. Also, those who have an issue with a black homosexual, would like focus on the black or the homosexual part, not both.
No witnesses, just happened to have a pre made hangman’s noose wearing ski masks at night but he knew they were white. I guess he could be telling the truth but has hate crime hoax all over it. It will be interesting to see how serious his injuries actually are. Were they self inflicted. Remember Tawana Brawley rubbed herself down with dog feces to give her story credibility. That’s pretty extreme.
In their fantasy world, such a scenario sounds like a plausible alibi after coming home beaten up from a gay sex/drug hookup gone bad.
I’m skeptical for reasons outlined by others. Does anyone know how long bleach would remain liquid in the extreme temperatures that night? It freezes at 18 degrees, from what I can gather. I couldn’t find any info on how long it would take. The news story I saw said the cops are looking for video. Something like this should never happen, but it just doesn’t sound probable that two men would be out in that cold at that hour and recognize this guy with probably a hat on in the dark. We shall see.

Somebody has bruises and contusions to explain and the real reason is embarrassing, I suspect. Surveillance is just about omnipresent now, there will be security camera recordings, that is if anyone takes this seriously enough to request it.

I just checked TMZ and it mentions that one video they got from a neighboring store shows only Jessie. Time will tell.

The FBI was investigating a threatening letter Jessie got recently By Trump supporters, so this will be a big deal and won’t be dropped. Cops have video from area stores.
