Yeah...I am just 1 hour drive north of you, and love this mild winter here compared to my 37 years spent in Chicago winters.
I’d pay a tax for 80 degree weather all year long, but since they can’t do that - I’m keeping my money.

Professor Valentina Zharkova gave a presentation of her Climate and the Solar Magnetic Field hypothesis at the Global Warming Policy Foundation in October, 2018. The information she unveiled should shake/wake you up.Zharkova was one of the few that correctly predicted solar cycle 24 would be weaker than cycle 23 — only 2 out of 150 models predicted this.
Her models have run at a 93% accuracy and her findings suggest a Super Grand Solar Minimum is on the cards beginning 2020 and running for 350-400 years. The last time we had a little ice age only two magnetic fields of the sun went out of phase.
This time, all four magnetic fields are going out of phase.
If the world was looking for an Epiphany moment, this should be it.
Even if you believe the IPCC’s worst case scenario, Zharkova’s analysis blows any ‘warming’ out of the water.
Lee Wheelbarger sums it up: even if the IPCC’s worst case scenarios are seen, that’s only a 1.5 watts per square meter increase. Zharkova’s analysis shows a 8 watts per square meter decrease in TSI to the planet.
Forget the arguments, debates and attempts to win over AGW alarmists — and just prepare.

In the olden days we called them the “Alberta Clipper” or “The Siberian express”.
Now it’s “polar vortex”.
Reminds me of when the words “El Nino” hit the news. A fall snowstorm blanketed parts of Colo, Kansas and Nebraska. Our local weather chick stood out in the dark, 700 miles from the storm and said..
“The question that is on everyone’s lips...”(then looking straight at the camera with a look of terror on her face, said...)”IS THIS EL NINO?”
I wanted to throw a boot at the TV.
Oh yes, good old Chicago...I remember when it was 20 below zero and the copper pipes in my garage busted open. But honestly cold weather never bothered me before reaching age 50. I remember skiing in Michigan when it was 25 below and 20 mph wind, when I was in my early 40’s. Great excuse to get shots of brandy in the bar LOL.

Prediction for winter weather is.... eye-rolling.
