Break Ground, Not Promises
http://anncoulter.com ^ | Jan 23 | Ann Coulter

Several months into the Trump administration, I started running a daily "Border Wall Construction Update" on Twitter, announcing how many miles of the wall had been completed that day and how many miles since the inauguration. It was always the same numbers: 0 and 0, respectively.

I was immediately attacked by people in the Trump base. You're being unfair, he hasn't had enough time, there's a legislative process, he's doing the best he can.

As days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months and months turned to years, and not 1 inch of the wall was built, the "3-D chess" crowd dwindled.

Any soldier that refuses an order is subject to immediate arrest, imprisonment and dismissal from the service with no pension.

Am talking at the very top. They would drag their feet and come up with excuse after excuse. The would defy the order through other bureaucratic means.

Our side is always playing 3D chess when dealing with ‘rats.

I just didn’t believe the Qook nonsense. 3D chess got way over used in that nonsense and therefor it means nothing today because none of it turned out to be true.

Our side just needs to let this all play out, the shutdown is going to hurt the democrats more then us. Once new wall (portions not replacing existing barriers) is constructed and illegal immigration goes down, the American people will be on President Trump’s side in mass.

When he wins on this issue, the ‘rats know they are finished in 2020. Keep that in mind.

Paul Ryan was worse because he was a traitor.

No. A determined President, the Commander in Chief, can fire any General, relieve him of his command and lower his rank or reassign him to a post in Alaska. The President has to exercise his constitutional power if he is to be effective and successful politically.

There’s truth in that. But it doesn’t change Coulter’s point. If the wall couldn’t be built in 2017 or 2018, how can anybody expect that it will be built now?

Side point #1: The only Pelosi way will agree to a wall now is if Trump gives up a HUGE amount of things in return. And in this respect Pelosi and Ryan are not the same. Pelosi will ask for much more than Ryan would have.

Side point #2: I disagree with Coulter in that she implies that this mess is mostly Trump’s fault. It’s not. It’s mostly the GOPe’s fault.

President Trump has tons of accomplishments already, he has already proved to be more then sound and fury.

He is in this for the long haul. He even stated the shutdown is going to go on for months or years.

He will either get a wall or a new Republican house or both in or by 2020.

Nancy has to give in, the rats are already cracking on this.

Federal Worker generally vote ‘rat, they have to be teed that they are not getting paychecks while Nancy is in a pissing war with the president that she isn’t going to win.

Let this play out, let the Democrats EAT THIS

Would you rather president Trump have a shut down like this with a republican house or a democrat one?

We need to stop the circular firing squad

I am happy he is taking the fight to the ‘rats.

Ann, I like you, mostly. But you’re getting on my nerves. Go have a couple of sandwiches and try to relax.

More than the wall is the problem.

There is no e-verify being pushed. There is no hold mexico and the rest of the countries from central/south america accountable on immigration/trade.

The new nafta isn't being talked about anymore, done deal they say. Well, does it fix the illegal alien/migrant $hit. No answers from the ademin. There is no vast crack down on employers who hire illegals. There is no holding colleges accountable for their students who overstay their visas.

A wall is fine. But, if our .gov doesn't enforce current laws, nothing will be improved.

The only thing thank unites the gop is tax cuts. They got that. They don't need Trump around anymore.

She was a rabid Romney supporter. I think she started going off the rails when he ran and failed in 2012.

I think you have it, she’s in it for the money, like a female version of Bill Kristol.

That leaves out the very shutdown that we are experiencing.
Or the possible declaration of a national emergency. Their imposition meets a necessary intransigence that is amplified by the Democrats holding the House.

Yes, e-Verify would be faster and bigger solution than the wall. Don’t get me wrong we need it, but to root out all of the 30-60 million illegal aliens already in the US, we need to implement e-Verify for all current and future workers. Deny them jobs and short of Soros and others giving them money, they’ll be starved out and have to go home.

Yes. And they wouldn’t have to delay very long. Because some federal judge would issue a stop order. Then things would get all gummed up.

But I would still like to see Trump order the Corps of Engineers to get involved. Just to make a point.

That is an excellent point. And I suppose that’s why Trump waited until 2019 to make his move. Better to put the Democrats on the spot than the Republicans.

Glad she is speaking up. Where are others to speak up? Too much silence and sadly too many, here are FR for example would rather criticize Coulter for speaking up rather than listen to what she is saying.

To make a point?

If that point is to say, I lose, you win Nancy, that is all it would say.

He needs to stay the course, it is the only way to get the wall.

It would be nice she had something meaningful to say instead of her same old schtick of attacks.

Ann wants to sell you a book, are you buying?

Everyone is trying to sell something. That, to me, is a separate topic. I general do not buy books—I think overall I have bought one of Coulter’s, three of Trump’s, Palin’s book, and a so forth. Not a big collection. I’d rather read directly online for more timely discussion.
