House Democrats are trying to sweeten the pot and end the government shutdown by offering President Trump billions for 21st century border security to coax him into giving up his demands for a wall.
The proposal would provide up to $5.7 billion to boost personnel at the border, add technical enhancements like sensors and drones and more immigration judges.

21st century border security sucks just as bad as 19th and 20th century border security did. Jose and Maria don’t care ‘bout what century your border security is. They’re coming across the river and get the free sh*t the “judges” say they are entitle to by the U.S. Constitution.
Durinf the SOTU, I hope Trump shows pics of all the walls/gates around ‘Rat pols’ homes. And states that when he sees ‘Rats replacing their hard security with virtual security, he’ll believe they are serious.
More Democrat cr*p branding ...
21th AIN’T NO WALL
ELECTRONICS AIN’T NO WALL
Only a WALL OF ROCK requires dynamite to penetrate.
Notice those dynamite drill holes along highways.
I don’t care if the GD government is shut down FOREVER. Half if not 100 percent of it is bloated and ineffective anyway.
Those who are affected have the choice to seek other employment right now. They can choose not to sit home in their pajamas all day and whine and cry.
We can re-hire them as private contractors to do the very job they do everyday.
My husband is a contractor who has to do the work for government agencies that, for whatever reason, cannot do themselves. So, why do we need THEM?
If eventually Washington DC folds and even WE as a family have to move due to lack of opportunity, then so be it. It would be a small price to pay vs. watching this country become overrun by needy immigrants who will destroy us.
I want my country back, more than I want a bunch of TSA patdown technicians. I want a secure place for my family to live, and for my grandchildren and their grandchildren to live and prosper — a country like I was so lucky to grow up in — a SAFE place with freedom and opportunity for all.
I don’t want to be a tax slave so that the left can gain power over us all forever.
Hold out for the wall, President Trump — as long as it takes!!!!
Wonder what Nepalatono did with the $50 million she diverted from the project she shut down?
NO!!! Wall or nothing! Trump already caved on SOTU. Fox has deserved headline: TRUMP BLINKED! Will he give up wall next? Watching.
How much you wanna bet that Paul Ryan is working behind the scenes to thwart the wall funding?
Why can’t you do both and really close the border? Oh yeah, more voter fraud for 2020.
He didn’t cave, he doubled down. Where would he get half the audience he would at the SOTU. It is now all on Dingbat if it doesn’t happen. You NeverTrumpers do not even know how he won the election.
The High-Tech Wall that the Democrats are proposing is analogous to a home burgler alarm. It’s only effective when its turned on and there’s a fast, armed response to an intrusion. There is still the problem of “Catch & Release” or the lengthy process of deportation with all of its attendent problems. And, yes, the next Democrat administration would immediately cut funds for a sensor-barrier thus unplugging the entire initiative.
The Dems technical enhancements are the way they will control info about their latino foot-soldiers coming cross the border.
Trump wont go for this.
Ah, such stupid comment to accuse anyone of questioning Trump being a Never Trumper. You do realize that people have brains, might not agree with everything? Or, do you drink the Kool-Aid, keep a fresh jar of Vaseline around, and stand by and shut up for whatever happens? Pathetic.
And would free up BP for more internal "ports of entry" duty.
Hmmmm! After a couple dozen, the traffic would slow down.
Democrats 21st century border security a keep out sign.
That is exactly the problem. Any border security needs the elimination of catch and release and the elimination of lengthy deportation processes to be effective. A physical wall needs that also.
The support of congress and the executive branch to enforce immigration law is key.
