Dearest one, I can empathize with your emotion on this. I was once (actually 3 times) laid off with little notice. Severance was my last paycheck. No prospects; had to look for another job since I was not subject to recall by the shop.
I had payments and a young family to feed. I couldn’t get a zero-interest loan because...well, I was unemployed. I didn’t have the comfort of guaranteed back-pay if I found a job (it was the 1980s!). Nobody bought me lunches or groceries or anything. My congresscritter didn’t negotiate legislation to put me back to work.
These wankers should STFU and quit crying about being furloughed. That goes for the press and Dhimmicrats, too. Furloughed means you have a job and you get backpay.

Agreed Cletus. Daughter's family is financially stable even tho son-in-law's National Guard and his main job are both off now. He's thrilled that he's been taken on by 2 auction barns to herd cattle and horses.
Their big concern is that s-i-l has a war related, life theatening condition and the medical appointments have been delayed for treatment he needs. As you can tell by his going to work for the auction barn, s-i-l doesn't let this slow him down. And yet his physical thing is scary to daughter and the rest of us.
