The suspect in the disappearance of 13-year-old Jayme Closs and the murder of her parents in the family's Barron County, Wisconsin residence on Oct. 15 reportedly told authorities he decided to abduct her after seeing her boarding a school bus.
That's according to the criminal complaint filed against 21-year-old Jake Thomas Patterson Monday. He was due to make his first court appearance later Monday afternoon.
The complaint lists two counts of first-degree homicide, one count of kidnapping and one count of armed burglary.
Patterson was arrested Thursday in Gordon, Wisconsin - shortly after authorities say Jayme was able to escape from a home at which she was being held when Patterson was out.
She approached a woman who was walking her dog for help. That woman took Jayme to a neighbor's residence where they called 911. A description Jayme provided led to Patterson's arrest a short time later.
Jayme's parents James and Denise were found dead at their Barron County residence on Oct. 15, and Jayme had not been seen since.
According to the complaint, Patterson confessed to killing James and Denise and kidnapping Jayme. He allegedly told authorities he worked at a cheese factory south of Almena - which is also in Barron County - for two days before quitting. On his drive to the cheese factory on one of his two mornings there, he had stopped behind a school bus on Highway 7 and said he watched Jayme get on.

I notice that media reports don’t mention any sexual angle, and I understand their wanting to spare the girl. But was this a case of a sexually frustrated beta providing himself with a captive sex slave?

The trial may give us that info. He seems to be getting talky, so he may volunteer a lot more than we already know.
Yep, Give him a month to appeal with new evidence if possible. Shortly after appeal (10 mins), execution.
So the perp confesses, goes to court, material evidence is presented and is confirmed to be evidence against him, and he is considered guilty and so judged by the court. He should be marched out the back door to an awaiting Gallows and hanged then and there.

She’s a healthy 13 year old girl. If she was experiencing her Menstrual cycles he would have needed to purchase the needed items for her use.
Where was he buying those products? If he purchased them locally, didn’t anyone know him? If they did, why didn’t Red Flags arise?
A 13 year old girl can be controlled, despite what a lot of folks believe. Since the police, and the world in general haven’t been able to find a prior relationship between the two, I’m inclined to believe the abduction was all on the part of the guy.
We had a terrible kidnapping/murder down here in San Angelo, Texas a few years ago.
A guy kidnapped a young female Airman, hid her in a closet in his residence for a short while, over night...perhaps 1.5 days or so... he was divorced and had his young daughter visiting him during that time.... according to the guy when caught, he admitted threatening the young Airman into staying quiet in the closet while his daughter was visiting with him. I think the daughter was literally sickened by the thought (afterwards) that the young Airman was being held there while she was visiting....
When a person becomes scared, no, make that terrified, he/she/they can become extremely compliant when they see no way out at the time.
The big difference in this case was the kidnapper told the girl he’d be gone for several hours, which gave her hope... I think if he’d not told her the length of time he’d be gone, she’d have not been brave enough to risk trying to leave...
The prosecutors haven’t filed any rape charges either so maybe this guy is so weird and so beta that he didn’t rape her but was waiting for the magical Stokholm syndrome to kick in and provide him with the love slave of his fantasies.

No, he didn’t “Need” to do anything for her. He was holding her captive and didn’t care if she suffered.
