I do not blame Trump for this fiasco.

He did issue a warning at the end, “If we don’t get a fair deal from Congress, the government will shut down on Feb. 15th and I will use the powers granted to me under our laws and our Constitution to protect the nation.”

Actually, DH (Dear Husband in rv-speak) does all the cooking that involves meat. I lifted weights and ran 10K’s before I met him, and after, too. I’m OK. When I had a meat craving, I used a coupon to buy a bargain Big Mac, a Whopper, or some hot dogs and bologna. I was in good physical condition until I retired.

I was thinking the same. He didn't sound like the bold leader he has been. He sounded like somebody pushed him out the door & told him what to say, so he reluctantly said it.

My fondest dream is seeing those people deported to unpopulated islands in some Micronesian atoll. They’d have to be segregated to prevent disorderly conduct. We only need 4-6 islands to do the trick.

I have dry eye also. I think mine is from a combination of allergies (which I never had until the last couple years) and the medication I take to control my bladder. The eye doctor put me on steriod drops which burn like heck so I quit using them. The only thing I have found that helps them is this:

I don’t know NIKK, but it’s clear that the president has challenged the dirty dems to give him the border security he wants, or it’s on to state of emergency.

Frankly, when I look at how a president is unable to do something so important to the citizens of the country, I have to wonder. Any judge can put a stop to the Commander in Chief? This makes no sense. He should be able to proceed with the wall and ignore whatever Obama judge tries to stop him.

It is beyond belief that he’s being stopped from protecting the country BY FELLOW AMERICANS!!! That is the real problem.

No reading of the Constitution allows the President to force his way to the House podium.

This opening of the gov is a setback, not the end though.

Paul Ryan is one slimy, dirty, duplicitous traitor who I would love to see exposed for something dirty, like being on the take. I never could stand him and thought he looked perfect in that beard because he looked just like Judas.

My mother had a book in her hand ALL the time and I resented that. So I was NOT much of a reader. I never read 1984 or Animal Farm. I tried Ayan Rand's 900 pg. tiny print and said forget that.

I will try and see if I can get a copy of 1984 and join in whenever I can. So put me down and ping me when it starts.

Giving the state of the union is not high on my priority list with the thought Pelosi in the same camera shot behind him.
The government shutdown was only hurting the American people: employees not getting checks, people trying to travel and the lines taking 3 hours instead of 30 minutes, etc. I think this was a move that showed Trump cared about the American People not like the NO Nancy no skin off her nose.

You're right, the President can't just march in there. The way it looks to me, Nancy said "you're not coming into my house, unless you do what I want". Trump was forced to do what she wants. I don't know, to me it looks like she got her way. Some may see it different, I guess.

What will happen in 21 days? Now they know he & the R's won't follow through on a shut down when the going gets tough.

Trump didn't "lose" this by himself. He had plenty of R assisting. They were getting squeamish from what I read.

Maybe Trump will win in the long run, but I don't see today as a win.
