Does this President Trump text establish the pretext for the implementation of Martial Law? I suspect this may be where we are heading. If the Dems don’t fund the wall, them President Trump declares Martial Law. Then, the whole mechanism we’ve been waiting for begins!

That's not going to happen.

The use of martial law (rule by the Military) has been extremely sparse in American history. Lincoln did not declare martial law even during the Civil War. Several steps that he did take were later found Unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, and the Congress passed additional laws to limit the use of the US Military in domestic affairs, specifically the Posse Comitatus Act.

The Wikipedia article on Martial Law lists all the uses of it by the Federal Government, and is worth a quick perusal.

President Trump has shown much greater fidelity to the Constitution than any President since Reagan, so I don't think he's going to start flagrantly ignoring it with some mass martial-law decree.

I know that's a popular fantasy here, but it's just not going to happen, short of the legitimate reasons for it like a serious attack on the USA by foreign armies. (Red Dawn scenario, which again is not going to happen).

No way martial law is declared in the USA in 2019.

I agree but I am also comforted by the facts Trump has it in his back pocket...just in-case.

Basically agree but also think organized insurrection is a possibility in certain locales, especially California, and so consider limited military occupation of local areas depending on the actions of the enemy more likely than a full scale general martial law decree.

Well, that is perhaps the sweetest way ever of calling us all kookoobird conspiracy theorists that I've seen yet.

Well done, Jacky Derp.

Also, it's eye-opening that you have an inside source into the plan and can so definively state what is or isn't going to happen.

Hell, we're plugged into a REAL inside source and we don't even make such declarative statements.

You seem to know so much.

“No way martial law is declared in the USA in 2019.”

Certainly not by Trump over the border. What Trump has in mind is declaring the border as needing emergency protocols (building a wall, etc.) and will be restricted to that.

Maybe room in that to tweak the insane immigration laws.
