LOL!
The two articles are an interesting read. I posted a thread a couple weeks ago about the ongoing problems with the October update which caused some very irritating issues when it was pushed to our computers at the beginning of the month. I had become complacent and lazy because it had been awhile since a Microsoft update had been problematic for us. So I had reenabled automatic updates in Windows 10 Pro’s group policy editor... Never again. I even have virtual machines that had trouble with this update.
When I tried to roll back the October surprise on my primary laptop it went into a loop which would not allow it to boot. It took me hours to get things running properly. Even after I got the computer to boot again; I had to reboot into a command prompt mode and delete several innocuous iso files that were causing Windows Defender to go into an endless loop that was using all of the laptop’s disc and CPU resources. The fan was running at full speed while the computer heated up and basically nothing could be done on the machine. It was almost unbelievable that my new “super” laptop could basically be disabled by such a simple issue, and that I was unable to delete the files without first exiting windows.
And to all of those who will chime in about switching to Linux... As far as I know the drivers still do not exist for laptops with an 8th generation Intel Core processor. If you do a search you can probably find an article that says it is being worked on.
