Isn't "Journalistic ethics" an oxymoron? Because we have a First Amendment that guarantees freedom of the press I don't think there will ever be any prosecution of journalists for violation of "journalistic ethics".

Generally speaking you have to break a law to be prosecuted. What law would a reporter be breaking taking money from HRC to print her spin on issues? People have entire magazines and web sites dedicated to promoting a single issue or person. This is not illegal, it's part of what our system guarantees.

So, I think the meme is claiming something that is obviously untrue.

Probably not. But when 90+% of their "reporting" is negative to Trump/Republicans and positive to the democRats that isn't journalism, that's advocacy. They all need to be sanctioned for campaign contribution violations for the value of all that air time/page space.

It's rare that NPR (which we taxpayers *still* pay for) ever allows anyone on their shows who is a true Trump supporter. Instead they prefer RINOs, who will reliably agree with the framing assertions in their questions.

The interviewee here, Chris Buskirk, founder of American Greatness (a great web site of pro-Trump opinion) refuses to go along with any of the interviewers assertions, turning each one on its head.

This is quite funny and a masterclass in dealing with hostile press.

Yep.

There is a theory (untested) that a "journalist's" employer could sue them for fraudulently obtaining their salary by making up stories and sources. But obviously these journalists' employers are happy with the bilge they are spewing.

One recent exception is that WAPO is probably not happy to be outed for publishing outright Qatar ("Club Med for terrorists") propaganda in the form of the articles by the late faux-journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Hahahahahahah! That one still cracks me up.

Khashoggi's pieces are beyond their reach however.
