Assuming that the video is genuine, I would cut the girl some slack. Girls aren't raised to know about cars like boys are. Could be she thought it was a hybrid like a Prius, that still need gas.

The guy in this video was a complete jerk. Imagine a woman making a video of a guy trying to cook dinner for his girlfriend and making fun of him because he didn't know how to properly use a skillet or how to saute. If the video was real, the girl had good intentions and shouldn't be humiliated and mocked over it. She was trying to do a good thing.

That said, I think this was a staged video. A lot of the YouTube viral videos are staged.

The way she's was dressed and acted looked staged to me.

The kicker for me is when the guy gets back in the car and doesn't report what she said.
