How are you doing? Last I saw it seems you are starting to get better.
What is that medication? gabapentin? I hadnt heard of that one
I wonder if there could be an easier way so that you dont have to risk hurting yourself. When my sister had ALS, my brother-in-law got her some kind of sling thing that he wrapped around her bottom in order to get her up and around. He still had to hang onto her of course, but he didnt have to totally lift her. Im sure you have looked into all the options. I just wish there was more available to help you.
Yeah Im doing better! I kind of had the feeling that once I started healing I would take off and it would go fast. Maybe just hopeful thinking but it does seem to be doing that. I have to force myself to slow down hon realize but it was just two weeks ago I still had a lot of pain. Now Im trying to catch up and do all the things I have missed doing.
what I asked Santa for for Christmas actually what I prayed to God for for - was for me to be able to take my dog for a hike by Christmas. And I could! I even had trouble just holding the leash before. And putting on my hiking boots was impossible. The boot part is still difficult, but I can handle a leash and a 5 pound Yorky now :-) my main concern was if I had to pick him up on the trail in case he got into trouble somehow. And I can do that OK with my left arm. My right is still weak and has Twinges of pain so I tried to take it easy with it.
