A tunnel but you can't drive your own car?

What if I'm leaving Hawthorne and never intend to come back?

Public transportation is an above-ground extra-minimum security prison.

Think about it.

Well, I guess it USED to be above-ground.

You can bring your car. You stay in the car while it’s transported on an electric skate.

Oh, great. After the California legislature reads this, they’re going to revise their high-speed rail plans to make it all go underground. Gotta keep up with the latest in technology.

How do you solve a problem like E-lon
How do you hold a fruitcake in your hand

How do you solve a problem like E-lon
Maybe we’re too dense to understand

Elon Musk is unstable, somewhat crazy and it’s unsettling that governments are following his half baked ideas of tunneling, etc.

Then why underground? Just put car on electric platform and ferry across existing highways. Just need a very large area for loading and offloading cars otherwise you get the same traffic jam waiting your turn for other cars to get on or off the platform.

But if you’re super rich and a city lets you build your own tunnel why the hell not lol.

Not that I give a sh*t about carbon footprints, but since the algore wackos bring it up every chance they get, I’ll beat them to the punch here:

I wonder what the carbon footprint of this tunnel is.

There is an OTR Sci-fi drama I heard recently called “The Roads Must Roll” if I remember right.

Everyone moved by giant conveyors.

...

How would that add capacity? Plus there’s a speed limit and traffic jams on existing highways.

...

Tunnels survive quakes much better than infrastructure on the surface.

And in an earthquake it can become your tomb.

Others may find the 19th century version interesting too.

Looks like a Jules Verne design.

I forget which science fiction writer wrote the short story about autonomous tunnels used for population control.. Danged old age!
