This entry gives us a little insight as to what people were up to at that time in history. The mention of a steamboat brings to mind the Steamboat Arabia http://1856.com/arabias-story/
which was unearthed not too long ago and which gives a big bunch more insight. If you are so inclined, there are a bunch more similar situations waiting to be unearthed. The Arabia people would probably be more than happy to let you know how to go about doing that. Unfortunately, I am to old and don’t have enough money.
