I go to a small church, a conservative Southern Baptist fundamentalist (personally, I just consider myself Christian) and we’ve had 4 families impacted by suicide over the last few years.

Our minister seems to be drifting to saying if those that committed suicide were Christians, they are now in Heaven. Some of these families are the biggest contributors to the church.

He actually started using Samson as an example of how someone could commit suicide and still go to Heaven. I don’t like the example because Samson died trying to do God’s will. I think very highly of our minister but I believe he needs to stay away from commenting on the subject. His views may have changed but he doesn’t know.

I certainly don’t have all the answers but I don’t believe committing suicide shows much trust/faith in God. And are they living for God?

Yes. I know some people have mental illnesses. I guess we just have to trust in the Lord.

Psalm 116:15 KJV
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

The next verse does NOT read: Unless he killed himself.
