I would fight to avoid any currency that is totally internet based. Why make Big Brother’s job any easier when he decides he wants your dough?
I agree, or I think I do. My reference to bitcoin is only because they claim the total number of 'coins' is fixed by the 'blockchain', so the value of each coin is established, based on the total blockchain... no inflation.
It occurs to me that obtaining any bitcoin depends on trusting the blockchain to hold. It also occurs to me that when a bitcoin approaches a value of, say, $100,000, governments won't resist the temptation to find a way to tax them - or the usage of them for commerce. Right now it is the wild west with Bitcoin - and other cybercurrencies. Amazing!
