An elite liberal arts college known for disinviting speakers whose viewpoints offended students has canceled a play-in-progress because it made student cast members uncomfortable.
The visiting professor who was directing Beast Thing, Shayok Misha Chowdhury, withdrew himself as a candidate for a tenure-track position in the theater department because of the climate exposed by the cancellation of the play.

Before long the federal government will require it.
Do not make the Comfortable Fascists uncomfortable.
If there is one thing that they will not abide, it’s being uncomfortable.
They will kill you to achieve their desired comfort level if they must, so you had best make sure that the little Comfortable Fascists are f***in’ comfortable.
College cancels play by black playwright because it might harm black people because it might make them smarter.
As the artistic and production team moved through the creative process, the material provoked extensive and necessary internal conversations. Students in the cast expressed a desire not to move forward with the project and we have decided to cancel the scheduled performances.
The play description warned potential patrons that it deals with abjection and settler violence and includes gun violence, self-harm, nooses and hanging, animal cruelty, silhouetted nudity/sex acts and infant death. It centers around a ghost town paying for the sins it tried to hide.

When I was in college we did plays all the time... All sorts of stuff. Sure, there was the Vagina crap but also Shakespeare and I was in a very controversial “New Black Play.” (I played the bad guy... The only white one.) Yep, we were mostly lefties or swimming in lefty.
But:
The thought of a college official “cancelling” a play organized by any of us or our organizations would have been laughable.
Then again, that was back before so many colleges became not only Commie indoctrination centers but snowflake playgrounds for nanny-state pussy losers.
One girl in my HS class went to Williams, a year after a Seagrams heir was “kidnapped”.
Sounds like a great date night ; )
Lol!
Yeah, lotsa luck with that in any academic venue.
