Snow and rain mix falling at 2,100' elevation south of Asheville.
What's going on in your area?
Here in Southern California, it’s sunny and cool. The storm that blasted us earlier in the week is now blasting the East Coast.
Dreary overcast skies. Probably get a little drizzle later. 53 degrees right now in Florida Panhandle.
NC Ping!
Nothing here just south of Raleigh NC. Suspect it will be here soon. https://www.wral.com/weather_map_center/8106570/?default_map=doppler&default_map_selected=centralnc
Spoke to a friend who lives in Black Mountain last night. He is just East of Asheville.
I think he said they are predicting up to a foot of snow.
Straight rain 41 degrees south of Charlotte
If you add up all the day and night forecasts through Sunday night NOAA is calling for between 11-22 inches in Black Mt. They seem to always get more than surrounding areas so it should be an interesting time there.
Tanks for the grapics.
My friend is recovering from heart surgery and a stroke. He is a tough guy and will eventually get over it but no time to be taking a stroll.
I’m thinking I need to mow my lawn. Global warming is working out great for us in Alaska. If winters get any warmer here I’ll be able to drive a convertible all year long...with the top down.
Upstate South Carolina is at DEFCON ONE bread and milk alert.
So far, we got nothing weather-wise happening in our locale. We went out to breakfast a little later than usual and couldn’t get in our regular place. It’s probably a combination of Christmas shopping as well as storm shopping but there was definitely lots of traffic and people are out in force.
Did notice several major roads had not been treated last night but most roads we traveled on this morning do appear to have been treated.
Peach
Been lightly snowing in Black Mountain for past half hour.
In the icky swamps of NOLA it’s raining, 50’s cool and clammy. We send the snowmakers up North, sadly. Tomorrow will be cloudy, dreary and cold. My kind of weather! Can’t wait!
Here is Dacula, GA, we are at 39 and slowly dropping in temperature. Steady drizzle with frequent burst of beer breaks.
I’m in the SC Midlands, southeast of Columbia- we just got a notification we are now under a winter storm warning. So far all we are getting is rain.
