The only way a good government can happen is with people in government who believe in right and wrong (and choose right!), know the difference between truth and lies, have a servant mentality not lord mentality. Any good laws, regulations, restraints or whatever don’t matter if those in government are criminal minded.
That is the real problem, the criminals in government. Any criminal in government can circumvent, lie, twist, bend any good law or whatever kind of restraints there are.
It’s a people problem.
Of course there are rotten, rotten laws right now - written and voted on by rotten people!
Which, then, gets back to the gross failures of the Christian church . . . us. . . . to walk humbly and obediently before our God Almighty Yehovah.
Secrecy--requires a robust measure of privacy.
At this point in history, there's considerable evidence that there IS NO PRIVACY. Not for anyone. Period.
There is purported technology that--if one has the coordinates in space and time, one can call up a holographic video of what went on/is going on at those coordinates in space and time.
There's other tech that evidently supports literal mind-reading--the question is--from what kind of distance.
Depending on how true such claims are--secrecy laws are unmitigated nonsense. Any nation with any level of high tech science will likely have access to such technologies.

Society’s ills are in proportion to its people’s distance from God. The further away from God, the deeper the problem.
