It’s not feminist. It sucks. Always been a terrible song. Even before we realized it was kinda date rapey.

The Frank Loesser estate makes more money from that song than from “Guys and Dolls”!

That’s because as a culture we obsess. Especially this time of year. Hundreds, thousands, of Christmas songs to choose from but you pretty much only hear the same (half assed and terrible) 2 dozen everywhere you go.

I have a weakness for it. You probably hate ‘Wonderful Christmastime’, ‘Happy Christmas (War is Over)’, ‘Step into Christmas’ etc...

Good recall. Yes, I liked that song (pop hit that it was).
Back when Cher was not nearly so nauseating.

I hate that radios stations count any song that has anything to do with winter or has any mention of the word “Christmas” as a Christmas song. I have heard far too many renditions of “Last Christmas” for a lifetime, and that is just in the last two weeks. Take away that and anything performed by former Beetles, the Christmas tracks would be mostly empty and the season would be soooooo much better for it.

That is sick and yet so true.

Frank Loesser wrote
Baby, It's Cold Outside in 1944 as a call and response duet for his wife Lynn Garland Loesser and himself to sing at a housewarming party in New York City at the Navarro Hotel. They sang it to indicate to the guests that it was time to leave. Later, they would regularly perform it at parties they attended.
In 1949, Frank sold the song to MGM for use in the movie Neptune's Daughter. Lynn wasnt pleased about the sale of the song. She reportedly stated she felt betrayed, comparing it to the feeling of catching him in bed with another woman. The song won the Oscar for Best Original Song.
The perpetually offended SJWs are clueless and lack any understanding of history. Regardless as to what one thinks of the song, one has to be completely irrational to perceive it as misogynistic.

The tune is apparently lifted from an Irish folk song.

The wife says if a black rapper changes the title to Bitch, Its Cold Outside, none may say anything against them.

I just listened to the James Taylor cover of this song. Rush should play different covers of this song leading up to Christmas.
