Sounds depressing.
Night Train and Mr. Brownstone by GnR aren’t downbeat sounding in the music and Axl doesn’t sound sad, but Night Train (a BRUTAL drink back in the day) and Mr. Brownstone (nickname for heroin once) ARE/WERE brutal.
I didn’t get out unscathed physically or mentally.
Nothing horrible. But not completely unscathed.
