I cannot begin to think how one would relate brain size to intelligence, since there are so many variables and conducting a controlled study is nearly impossible. Modern humans actually have smaller brains than our ancestors, a phenomenon related to the high degree of specialization we have developed as we have become civilized. We no longer have to devote huge amounts of brain power to survival, and we do not have to carry out most tasks related to daily survival. Those tasks are being done, by people who have specifically trained to do those tasks. Domestic animals also have smaller brains than their ancestors, for much the same reason. Civilization allows for specialization while minimizing the intellectual demands of survival.
On the most basic analysis, though, one can relate brain size to intelligence. On average, human brains are much larger than mouse brains. And we are much smarter than mice.
