The planet is going to witness a rare celestial event in January 2019, as a supermoon will coincide with a total lunar eclipse, also known as the blood moon. It should be noted that the last blood moon happened on July 27, 2018, and after the upcoming blood moon in 2019, there will not be another one until 2021.
Even though the predictions made by these conspiracy theorists are going viral on the internet, there is no such term as 'Blood Moon' in the Bible. However, there are many references in the Bible where the moon turns blood red before doomsday.
In the King James version of the Bible, Book of Joel Chapter 2, it is predicted that natural disasters will be triggered in all nooks of the planet when the sun and the moon turn dark.
However, experts made it clear that the red color of the moon has nothing to do with an apocalypse. As per these space scientists, it is a phenomenon called refraction which is resulting in the blood red color of the moon.

As if that's a long time off.
Note to self: Maybe hold off on paying the bills in Jan.
Yeah, every two or three years isn’t exactly rare.
A few years ago, when the Mayan calendar said the world would end on Dec. 21 or whenever, I argued that Christmas shopping was futile. Didn’t work.
Nothing to see here folks...move along...move along...
Nonsense. Superstitious clap trap. Any local or world wide distress will happen because it was ripe to happen at this time it looks like the ship will hit the fan any moment it it has nothing to do with any 2000 (or greater) year old predictions.
I would agree. One time out of every 36 is not usual but certainly not rare. Think about a piece of gold for every 36 rocks you pull out of a stream.
Or if one of every 36 players in college basketball being good enough for the NBA.
Rare is one of those words that gets bandied about a lot these days.
Nancy Boys & Girls take over the House. Will they ever relinquish power?
End Times people can be such idiots.
I remember back in the 70’s they told all their followers to stop planning for the future as Jesus was going to take us all home.
They still talk about it but most of them have zero $ in retirement and moved into their parents home after they died.

So scientists are experts in Biblical interpretation?
The coincidence of full solar and lunar eclipses on feast days specified in the Bible is certainly significant Biblically. However, many prophecies are not fully understood until after they happen.
God used heavenly signs to announce the birth and death of the Savior. The Bible indicates in many places that His return and the Day of Judgment will be preceded by both the sun and moon being darkened.
For both of these things to take place simultaneously will require some unknown object to block the view of the sun or moon.
This is what happened when Christ was crucified. The sun was darkened in midday for hours. This could not have been a solar eclipse caused by the moon passing between the earth and sun because this only causes a few minutes of darkness.
Thanks fieldmarshaldj. Paul Begley, huh. What's his FR nick?

“there will not be another one until 2021.”
So they’re saying we will a short rest break between apocalypses?
Time enough to make beer run.
No, end of the world was last year with that Lucy in the sky with diamonds thing. Those posters stopped posting after that, so they must have been taken.
I remember Christmas 1973. A lot of hoo-hah about Comet Kahoutek and how it heralded the possible end of the world or the second coming of Christ. Ended up being a major dud but a lot of songs were written about it (including a track on Journey’s debut album).
