I’ve made it a personal mission to start saying Merry Christmas to everyone starting the day after Thanksgiving for the last 3 years.
The first year I got some surprised looks and “thanks, you too”. This year I’m getting enthusiastic “Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!”
I feel like we’ve turned a corner, but have a ways to go yet. I still get a few surprised looks - but I’ll keep at it!
When they ask for your email while shopping try...

or
He he he, watch them squirm... then realize how PC they are....
