I really love my dogs. I've had to put down five over the past several decades. Each time is just as hard as the last.

Every one gave me every ounce of unconditional love for their whole time and I tried to give back.

I've got two now. The older is my PTSD buddy Labrador. The new one is a not-so-little German Shepherd princess. Well, the Shepherd is Mrs. Kit's dog. But she's a princess.

When I meet them in Heaven, I'll have a whole pack of cuddles!

That’s the contract, right? They didn’t ask to come to us. We restrain them if they try to get away. In return we damn well owe them a happy life, if we can.
