I don't know how the rules stand currently, but it used to be (and probably still is) the case that Senators are entitled to one "A List" committee and that they largely choose their own assignments with the choices made in order of seniority. The process is not as autocratic as House committee assignments. There is also a lot of log-rolling among Senators as they jockey for the available slots. I suspect that if KH really wants to stay on Judiciary, she can, but she might have to sacrifice something else. Of course, she'll demand a "both of the above" rather than an "either-or" choice. The press will parrot her position, but that doesn't make it so.
Being a mulato is not a resume enhancer.
Man, Kamala’s a triple threat.......she’s not fussy....she’s used her vagina, her race and her sex to get ahead.
I agree. The Dems should kick Corey Booker off instead.
Instead of race they should be highlighting her gender. For a party who did as poorly as the Republicans did among suburban women, pointing out that the GOP is taking this step solely for the purpose of removing a woman from the Judiciary Committee is not going to help Republicans win them back.
How many Federal Circuits are there?
9
How many Justices on the SCOTUS?
9
How many members of the Senate Judiciary Committee are there?
21
You decide.

Exploring the common-law origins of citizenship, the court observed that "new citizens may be born or they may be created by naturalization" and that the Constitution "does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens."
Under the common law, according to the court, "it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also.
These were natives,or NATURAL-BORN CITIZENS, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners."

Born in country, to citizen parents (plural)
Yes, that she makes the RATs look bad, and they are screaming racism.
Keep her there, and run ads for two years, with her and the other radical CBC members being stupid and whacking out.
Punish the pig. (fine swine)
I'd never know they were "black", except they insist on proclaiming it. Again and again and again. Maybe trying to convince themselves? Transracial, perhaps? Until the Roseanne flap, I didn't know that other woman was black, either.
In any case, I have no problem with Feinstein giving up her seat. To further the cause of "barely blacks".
Except that is a misquote. Vattel never wrote that. It first appeared in a bad translation 10 years AFTER the Constitution. And Minor did not address who was a NBC because no one had any doubt for the person in question.
I know that. I know the state of affairs. Thank God for Donald Trump giving us a short reprieve. Once he’s gone, look out.
Kamala Harris of Willie Brown fame? Do a search and read all about how this Marxist got her start in politics. Not unlike the casting couch, ya think? Corrupt, amoral, bottom-feeding, power-hungry politicians beget corrupt, amoral, bottom-feeding, power-hungry politicians! They’re incestuous and insidious, IMO.
.
That is not relevent!
SCOTUS said otherwise in a case where it was the subject, and the justices were founders.
Dicta in other cases has no bearing.
.
Minor is not relevent to the subject, and dicta is not a part of any ruling.
Nothing to do with the GOP.
Democrats name their own members and if they arent ready to relinquish their white privilege to help Harris out, not the GOPs fault.
This bogus charge of racism has nothing to do with who sits on the Judiciary Committee.
If the Democrats dont want a black woman serving on it, thats up to them.
AnotherSCOTUS pick and things would look a lot better of course.
She’s a skank. Plain and simple.
That’s a great point. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too long.
...that should be a quiet discussion ... [crickets]
